Our Other Brands

We are, we believe, justifiably proud of our blended whiskies – the Antiquary range and Talisman. The Antiquaries comprise up to 30 grain and single malts in each brand, the malts coming from distilleries the length and breadth of Scotland. While it is true to say that the heart of Antiquary consists of Speyside whiskies, the other whisky regions and styles also play their part, from the single malts of Mortlach, Clynelish, Glenkinchie and Bowmore to the grains of Cameronbridge and Port Dundas.

Speyside is home to complex, rich, fruity and delicately balanced malts, while highland distilleries (such as Tomatin) contribute a complexity of malt and full flavoured aromas to the blend. Soft and fruity Lowlanders tone down the robustness of the heavier Highlands, and Islay Malts give just a hint of peatiness to the overall flavour profile. The use of grain whiskies ensures that the blend retains a high level of freshness and liveliness.

The name ‘Antiquary’ was derived from the famous novel by Sir Walter Scott, and was the creation of master blenders John and William Hardie, who founded their partnership in 1857. The brand has a long heritage and is positively steeped in history; it is one of the very oldest blended Scotch whiskies. The brand became part of Tomatin in 1996, and the distinctive multi-faceted bottle was retained.

Antiquary 12

The Antiquary 12 is a deluxe blend of Scotch whiskies which have been carefully selected from many of Scotland’s most cherished and celebrated distilleries, each whisky having a minimum age of 12 years. The Antiquary contains a particularly high percentage of malt to grain whiskies – a factor which contributes to the overall smoothness and depth of character.

The distinctive diamond shaped bottle is complimented by outstanding packaging design with the elegant presentation incorporating an innovative pop out coaster lid featuring three of Scotland's most famous castles - Edinburgh , Culzean and Eilean Donan.

Antiquary 21

The Antiquary 21 is a multi-award winning Superior Deluxe Blended Scotch Whisky; an exclusive blend which combines fine Speyside and Highland malt with a splash of Islay and the fragrance of Lowland grains to create a truly exceptional whisky. All whiskies used in this blend are at least 21 years old and are finished in Spanish ex sherry barrels. Together these individual whiskies deliver a taste of unrivalled sophistication

The Talisman

Talisman is our house blend – a first class combination of whiskies with a high proportion of Tomatin malts in the mix. Definitely a superior blend which surprises; there are complex and smooth aromas with subtle peaty and savoury overtones, and the grain marries well with the malt. If you like your blend to be smooth but with a bit of bite to it – this is the one for you.
